How did I get here? For most of my life I lived in Concord, North Carolina. In 2009, I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina. While there, I studied Information Science and Psychology. I graduated in May of 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree (Information Science), as well as a Bachelor’s of Arts degree (Psychology).
I knew that I wanted to pursue librarianship since elementary school, so graduate school had always been part of my plan. The opportunity to be a part of a flagship program at the School of Information Science (SILS) allowed me to seamlessly transition from undergrad to graduate school. As a "dual-degree" program student, I took graduate classes during my undergraduate career and graduated in December of 2014. I am currently the Media Coordinator at Manteo Elementary School in Manteo, NC. Manteo is part of Dare County Schools, a district on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Living at the beach has been a dream of mine since I was a child, so I could not be more thrilled to have the opportunity to do what I love in an area I love! |
